Wasnt best customer service, guy was very nice but didnt seem like he kniws whats going on. I asked him few questions about final bill. And didnt answer much, and even said i dont know when i asked him about certain fee on bill. Needs more training. I see why they have such a low rating with google.
Pretty disappointed with my rental last week. Almost $600 for the long weekend and then they charged an extra $60 after drop off. Got some of it waived, but the rep couldn't even figure out why some of the charges were there, she said the "system went crazy". Don't use this Avis if you can help it and check and double check your bill!!!!
I had a very similar experience that others have had in these reviews. I wouldn't rent a car from here if they were giving them away. The two franchise locations (Hartford and Newington) are so poorly run, it's laughable. I've been an Avis customer for years, but I can guarantee that I'll never rent a vehicle from either of these locations ever again.
Avis this is the best example of how not to run a franchise!!!!!
PS. We are an Avis Preferred Customer renting cars every month since 2015. We have a reservation with Hertz today, thanks for you excellent customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like everyone is having the similar kind of customer service at this place. I had worse experience with the Newington facility but this one is nothing different. There is a 29 minutes grace period for the rental and I was at 4 minutes and they want to charge me. End of the day after arguing several minutes, they didn't, but this could have been easier. I don't know whether they get commission for overcharging customer. My company's preferred car rental is Avis and I had several good experience with Rental using preferred membership throughout the country but Newington and Hartford are the worst ones I have experienced. After two bad episodes of Newington, I thought Hartford would be better. I will never rent from these two locations. The problem really is their representative feel enjoyment doing this. When I rented I rent it for 5 days and after doing all paperwork the person was saying, you should have rented for a week and I can see it is cheaper, and you would have got a cheaper rate. If he really wanted to help me out here, he should have told me at the first place.
This used to be the best Avis location in Hartford when Stewen Sweney was running the franchise. The franchise is currently owned by Lisa who also runs the Newington franchise. She is very rude and not customer friendly. So is her employees at both the franchises. Avoid Leibert road & Newington franchise if possible.
