The food at Firebox is very good. As is the atmosphere. I love grabbing a seat in the tavern. But the tavern and lunch menu could be improved to have more bar type food.
Excellent atmosphere and comfortable dining. They execute their menu well though it would be nice to see it change a bit more frequently. Given the trend of increasing your price to give the perception of better quality, this place is good quality for a slightly inflated price. I would eat here 50 times before eating at Capitol Grille. The Firebox Salad is excellent and all you need to walk away satiated. Kielbasa sandwich and brussel sprouts are not to be missed.
Food was awesome, and service very professional. I had the double pork chop, and I tasted the scallops, and the Brussels sprouts...all were delicious! Strongly recommend.
Delicious seasonal and local food, cocktails and beer. The staff is knowledgeable and can provide an in-depth description of the flavor palette of any of the listed menu items. Have a large group? If you call or book online in advance, the staff can make accommodations for your party. I also suggest going in a large group, that way you can order appetizers and desert and still have room for your entree. The prices reflect the quality and quantity of food, be prepared to take home leftovers.
The food here was excellent and all from local sources. It is a large restaurant with three different seating areas depending on what atmosphere you're after. The front is with the bar and was loud. We chose to be seated at the back where it was quieter. Thursday's seem to be the least busy. The staff were really nice, welcoming and attentive. Portions are good sizes too but the prices are high. If I could give half star ratings it would be 4.5 star experience.
