It's a venue with a lot of Rich history but all that seems to go out the door when it comes to their security detail. This is the second time this has happened to me. A friend of mine being wrongfully ejected from a AHL hockey game. We are coming as fans often opposing team, we understand that there is a line that cannot be crossed, and we do not cross that line last night. It is very saddening when opposing teams fans somewhat don't want to come to your Venue, to support their team because of how your security team treats them. And for the second time we were not allowed to speak on what had happened and just forced out. Was refused the ability to speak with head of security, instead security got police to escort us out of the game with 15 minutes left in the third. As our rides are inside and we are now stuck outside in sub-freezing temperatures until the end of the game. While standing outside we could see not only other Springfield fans who are sitting in our section and others but what looked to be Hartford fans as well going to be speaking on our behalf. It was a terrible experience last night but our team came out with the win in the last seconds. It won't deter me from going to away games to support my team but it's very saddening when fans don't want to go to an away game because of how poorly they are treated by security at away games. But I will be back March 28th when we go back down to Hartford to cheer on my team twice as loud and twice as hard and again with respect and hopefully I will get it in return
We have attended numerous events here. Hockey and concerts mostly. The parking has always been good, just make sure your not waiting to the last minute to go or you maybe out of luck. Cheaper than the Webster Arena, $20 Friday night verse $10 Sunday night. We have never had an issue with employees, they have always been very nice and will do what they can to help. Our only issue has been trying to enter and Sunday night was no different. I think they should take a lesson from the Webster Area. There seems to be no real visible enterance/security system in place. Everyone must crowd and crush against each other to get into the door, needless to say there are people cutting others off and all the other issues that comes along with that. The security system seems to be ineffective, the employees wave the metal detector, while others go over every inch. Purses are searched, but incompletely, they are opened but the large purses while opened are not checked fully. If you want to bring something in, just put it at the bottom of a large purse, no problems. I can only image what a nightmare it is trying to figure all of this out, but I think more time needs to be given to it. Yes, I have sent emails in regarding my concerns, but it doesn't seem to be changing.
Can't give a 1/2 star to make this 4 1/2. Most of the seats provide good views except the "nose bleed" seats, which are too far away from floor. Food items are OK. Access to seats and numerous restrooms is easy. Parking is all very close to building. There are many good restaurant options surrounding the arena.
UCONN women were great! Seating is VERY TIGHT. Had to sit on my coat and there's NO elbow room. Good restaurants near by. The place needs updating but NOT ON PUBLIC COST.
Parking was ok but we left @5 min early so that we could escape the traffic rush back but nothing moved for 20 min after we got into the car and online to leave. No explanation either. What's the story?
