I don't remember why I went there for. O'yea fireworks. In the backyard.
Well worth a day and in close proximity to other nice views.
It’s historic (as I found in the wiki page) and the building was quite impressive... Bushnell Park is just behind it and it is right located in Hartford downtown.Don’t forget your camera.. ;)
It's a small area and there doesn't seem to be much for parking. It's a Pokemon nest spawning point though. They show up pretty often and all around the area you can find them. The state capitol police may stop and ask what you're doing but, for now, seem to be okay with you hanging around for Pokemon. As long as no one does anything stupid, or illegal, it should stay that way.
I was there for my community gathering where Prachi Desai visited us for Independence Day celebration.
I love state capitols, and this one is amazing - looks like a large castle. The grounds are kept up nicely, and the surrounding parks with carousel are nice to walk through. I like the different governor statues on the sides of the building. Parking is a little scarce, but you can normally find something nearby and walk.
